BRIEF
HISTORY
Centre for Development of Imaging Technology
(C-DIT) is an organization established in 1988 by
the Government of Kerala for advancement of research,
development and training in imaging technology with
an implied role in socially relevant science &
development communication. Shri P. Govinda Pillai
was the founder Director of the Centre. C-DIT is currently
housed in a 3-acre Campus in the picturesque Chithranjali
Hills, beside the Kerala State Film Development Corporation
Campus, 7 kms from Thiruvananthapuram City, on the
way to Kovalam. It also has a City office in Thiruvananthapuram
and a Regional Centre in Kayamkulam.
C-DIT employs close to 100 persons. One of the uniqueness
of C-DIT is its rare combination of human resources,
a talented pool of creative personnel co-existing
with technological work force. Over the past 15 years
of its existence, C-DIT has taken up many prestigious
projects of the Government of Kerala and completed
them successfully.
MISSION STATEMENT
To become the leading service provider and product innovator
in new media information technology systems, tools,
applications and content development with thrust on
deployment of sustainable and appropriate imaging and
imaging technology for science and development communication.
QUALITY
POLICY
Quality in services and products offered by C-DIT is
achieved and sustained when each concerned employee:
scientifically approaches, continuously monitors and
reviews, owns and enjoys tasks assigned to them and
continuously strive to achieve customer satisfaction
and establish a C-DIT brand image.

To promote the seamless integration of different media
formats, technologies and their delivery

To realise convergence of library, laboratory and playground
through possibilities of the new media

MANAGING
TEAM
C-DIT
is currently working under the Chairmanship of Shri
V. S. Achuthanandan, Hon"ble Chief Minister of
Kerala. Shri K. Sureshkumar IAS is the Director and
Shri K. T. Balabhaskaran is the Registrar. C-DIThas
an executive committee with representatives from Government
Departments along with a Governing Body.

STRUCTURE
Currently C-DIT works as 11 financially independent
and functionally focused teams with overlapping memberships.
The teams are

· Computational Linguistics Team (CLT)

ADMINISTRATION
Headed
by the Administrative Officer, the Team lends support
to all C-DIT Teams in matters such as project monitoring,
purchase, accounting, manpower, recruitment, project
proposal preparation, human resource welfare and employee
amenity activities. Establishment, Accounts and Purchase
are the three major limbs of the team. Junior Executives
supervise Establishment & Purchase wings. Assistant
Manager (Finance & Accounts) supervises the Accounts
wing with the assistance of Junior Executive. Altogether
there are 43 employees in this team.
CENTRE
FOR MEDIA CONVERGENCE
C-DIT has evolved as a centre of convergence over years,
currently in a position to offer a plethora of services
covering a wide range of information appliances and
deploying all conceivable media formats. From beta tapes
to white light holograms, from digital audio to virtual
laboratory software, from all new worldwide web to plain
old print media, C-DIT integrates seamlessly in the
dozens of projects handled by the C-DIT Teams each year.
To formalize a common backdrop for the rainbow of media
infrastructure and skills that C-DIT has, a Centre for
Media Convergence has been established, which is an
umbrella of the following teams: OIP, VCT, NMT, EIT,
WST and CLT.
