C-DIT is celebrating 20th year of its commencement. The celebrations have started on 3rd January 2009  As part of the celebrations, various Seminars and Conferences will be organised. Cultural Events, Video Festival, Technology Exhibitions and Competitions are also planned in this occassion. Over the last 19 years, C-DIT evolved as a centre of convergence and had grown to offer a plethora of services covering wide range of information appliances and deploying all conceivable media formats.

 

It is now having fourteen teams working on themes like Techno Creativity (to explore creative avenues on technological advancements), Edutainment (to realise convergence of library, laboratory and playground through possibilities of convergence of the new media), Cultural Customisation (ensuring visual, audio and linguistic localisation of information technology systems), Digital Heritage Archiving (to develop and popularise tools and process for archiving heritage information), Media Convergences (to promote the seamless integration of different media formats, technologies and their delivery), Freedom in Software ( to promote the technical ethical and economic advantages of free software), Malayalam as Administrative Language (to evolve technology support for ensuring use of Malayalam as administrative language), Communication Training offering different courses in communication and working for development of community media (community radio, community television and other formats that are cost efficient for informing, educating and entertaining community preserving the cultural uniqueness of each community) and, Research and Development wing.
