C-DIT focus on developing new solutions, technologies, and products that will benefit the society and improve the quality of life of people and undertakes R&D in emerging fields. Research in the field of Language computing started in 2000. C-DIT has given numerous contributions in the area of Malayalam Language Computing. We have aided in the integration of Malayalam and other ICTs, the globalization of Malayalam through Language Computing Technology, the production of linguistically and culturally customized software, research, publication, consultation, and training of Malayalam Language Technology. “Nila” fonts were designed to support Malayalam on computers. The websites like Enteymalayalam and BhashaMitram online dictionary were launched. The mobile version of BhashaMitram dictionary was also developed in Android and is freely downloadable from the Google Play Store. C-DIT has successfully completed the Tree Bank Project for developing Dependency Treebanks for Malayalam by the MCIT, Government of India. The creation of a Text Mining tool for Malayalam is now ongoing and will aid in the quick real-time analysis of enormous amounts of data. We have developed Unicode fonts and applications in Malayalam computing, which are widely used in the state.
